Executive Chef Cody Hail spent 10 years in a variety of kitchens. In his pursuit of culinary greatness, he quickly learned it was taxing on his personal life.  In 2014 he took a leap of faith and decided to pursue his passion to open a chef-driven taco joint, The Urban Taco Shop, in the heart of downtown Oklahoma City. This new endeavor allowed Chef Cody to balance his passions of gourmet cooking and quality family time. Fast forward a few years and the response to our experiment has grown into a solid catering business and a food truck in addition to our brick and mortar restaurant to keep up with the demand.

Chef Cody insists on maintaining a chef-driven menu that features a variety of tasty tacos and other Mexican dishes at an affordable price, and in a lively and welcoming environment fit for everyone. Each taco is hand-made fresh and fast in our open-air kitchen, using premium ingredients sourced from the best suppliers. The result is authentic Mexican street-style tacos, burritos, nachos and more, each with a unique flavor and personality. Occasionally we like to push the envelope even further with forward-thinking innovations such as the widely popular Phoritto or Korean Bulgogi Burrito and other chef-inspired fusion dishes.
